The Summer That Wouldn’t End

This summer has been awful for me. It was long, uneventful, boring, depressive, way too hot and emotionally exhausting. The summer of 2015 will remain in the history of Alina as ‘The Summer That Wouldn’t End’. Looks like it’s done now but I’m sticking with the dramatic title because it really felt like an eternity and I still don’t trust that it’s over.

This was my first summer spent in Bucharest. Needless to say that now I don’t like the city anymore. It was supposed to become my new home, not my hell. Nonetheless, I’m giving it another chance this fall. It’s my favorite season and I hear autumns are beautiful around here.

In anticipation of that, I took advantage of a recent rainy September day and put together an outfit that, if fashionably acceptable, I’d wear over and over and over again.

As you can see it’s quite simple: a top, a mini skirt, boots and a cardigan. It’s comfy and chic and a perfect back-to-school outfit. The black matte rain boots are my favorite. I could go fishing or shopping wearing them and it would be acceptable. I don’t fish but I like knowing that I have the option :))

I’ve been absent from the blog for a little over a month now but I thought that if I don’t have anything nice to say, then I shouldn’t say anything at all. I’m trying to make this my motto. I just hope that it won’t force me to go on mute mode again.

Hope. There’s still a lot of hope šŸ™‚

  1. My Sorrow, when she’s here with me,
    Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
    Are beautiful as days can be;
    She loves the bare, the withered tree;
    She walks the sodden pasture lane.

    Her pleasure will not let me stay.
    She talks and I am fain to list:
    She’s glad the birds are gone away,
    She’s glad her simple worsted grey
    Is silver now with clinging mist.

    The desolate, deserted trees,
    The faded earth, the heavy sky,
    The beauties she so truly sees,
    She thinks I have no eye for these,
    And vexes me for reason why.

    Not yesterday I learned to know
    The love of bare November days
    Before the coming of the snow,
    But it were vain to tell her so,
    And they are better for her praise

    1. Thank you, Izabela. I admit I’m not a fan either but I like these ones because they are simple and matte and sometimes they look like leather boots šŸ˜€

    1. Thanks! They made the outfit prettier and I can’t wait to post more outfits with them. I’ve been wearing them a lot lately, I just haven’t had the time to snap some more pics.
