The Girl That Could

This is a look that I put together 5 minutes before I had to go out. I had just washed my hair and it was still wet. If I let it dry on its own, it gets curly and messy and so I thought… what to do to make it look nice so I can look like a person, not a tree? I also needed a hairstyle that once dried and let loose, my hair would still look okay. This is what I came up with. I think it’s nice. First of all, when it’s 30 degrees, you want your long hair out of the way. And second, once it’s air dried and you let it down, it has these beautiful big loose curls like only a professional hair stylist could do. I wish I had a photo of that too but I came home late at night and really tired. This is a perfect hairstyle for those hot summer days when you want to look pretty but you feel that your hair makes it impossible. It’s an easy one too but in case you haven’t tried it before or don’t know exactly how it’s done, here’s a video from Kayley Melissa. She has tons of beautiful hairstyle videos and I find her instructions very easy to follow.

I managed to make a few of her hairstyles and if Two Left Hands here can do it (arrow-up) , so can you.

As you can see my outfit is quite simple. The only thing that makes it pop, quite literally, is the bright green top.

I wasn’t sure if to opt for gold or silver jewellery so I mixed them while keeping it subtle. Gold and silver rings, gold and silver bangles and gold earrings. I remember a time when wearing silver and gold together was a faux pas. How silly! It goes to show you that you should wear what you like, not what is cool.

It was a lovely weekend. I spent a lot of my time outside, I drank the most delicious cocktail and discovered some awesome songs that I’ll share in my next post.

I hope yours was lovely too!
